The health and future of a City is dependent on the
health of its school system.

ImproveFWISD is an advocacy-action general purpose political action committee whose name is the same as its mission.

The priority actions include improving transparency from the District, raising awareness of local policies and practices, supporting teachers and students, and improving student outcomes.

Making an impactful change in our district starts with electing candidates who meet stringent criteria for ethics, fiscal responsibility, a focus on tangible and immediate student achievement, and who hold a belief of full transparency and holding district employees, including the Superintendent, accountable for their actions and student achievement.

We are committed to identifying, screening and supporting such candidates in the May 2021 School Board election.

Young Teacher
Opportunities for Improvement
  • Superintendent Scribner admitted he expects to see “historic academic regression” as a result of online schooling.

  • FWISD Board voted to adopt a 2020-2021 Tax Increase.

  • The rate is 7.5% higher than last year’s tax rate -- a $49 Million increase over last year.

  • Voters in the district will determine in the Nov. 3 election whether to approve this tax rate.

  • Now is not the time to tax the community. The pandemic has put many citizens under immense financial burden.

  • FWISD failed our community in response to COVID and continues to fail at providing our children with a much needed meaningful education.

  • During the Pandemic FWISD did nothing over the summer to prepare for school in the Fall.

  • 86,000 Fort Worth kids went without quality schooling for 6 months.

  • FWISD "lost" 8,000 children who never logged on or were heard from after March 9.

  • FWISD has a scored a 'C' with the State of Texas with 18 schools in the district that had a failing grade of F.
